This Acid Attack First Aid course gives you the knowledge and confidence to take immediate, effective action in the event of a chemical assault.
You’ll start by understanding what an acid attack is, the common types of corrosive substances used, and the risk factors that can increase the likelihood of such an incident. We’ll cover personal safety measures so you can protect yourself while helping others, as well as what to do while waiting for help to arrive.
You’ll learn the immediate steps that can save lives, including how to call the emergency services efficiently and what information to give. We’ll also introduce you to the Acid Attack First Aid Kit, showing you exactly how to use its specialist equipment alongside the most important treatment — continuous rinsing with water to limit damage.
From additional first aid measures to what hospital care will involve, you’ll be prepared to provide the right support every step of the way. The course also covers psychological support for victims, recognising that recovery is not just physical but emotional too.
Through this training, you’ll gain a clear, structured response plan so you can act quickly, confidently, and safely. Whether you’re an individual, a workplace first aider, or a security professional, this course will strengthen your emergency preparedness.
This course comes with 2.0 hours of CPD, although the time to complete the course online may be less than this. Total course time includes 43 minutes of video training as well as knowledge reviews, final test, remedial help and reviewing downloaded material.
